Car seats of different groups are used for different ages of the child:
- 0, 0+ from birth to 7-9 months or up to 9 kg of the child's weight, set against movement,
- 0+, 1 from 7-9 months to 3-4 years or up to 18 kg of child weight, are installed as the car moves,
- 2, 3 from 3-4 years to 12 years or up to 36 kg of child weight, to raise the child to the level of an adult seat belt.
Car seats are attached to the car using standard seat belts or the ISOFIX system. Some car seats for newborns have a separate base, which simplifies the process of installing the seat.
